I Remember on 9/11…
. . . being in Geneva, Switzerland, on a tram to pick up my young daughters, Casey and Gabriella from their school. I noticed some people beginning to speak about what they heard was happening. When I brought my daughters to my office, we all saw the horrific images on the television screen. The feeling was simply disbelief, turning to anger, sadness, and a strange discomfort in seeing such tragedy being visited on the city in which I grew up and being so far away. Seeing the actual site on a visit soon thereafter made me numb.
I never doubted the resilience of the city or the country, and was moved on a recent visit to the freedom tower, which stands tall as we all remember the many brave souls that perished that day.
