Remembering My Dad – “You’re Not Far”
For me, every November 27th is a day of memory and reflection, for it is the day my Dad died, shortly after 9/11. Here I am again. My Dad – his name was Jack – was such an important person in my life, and I wish I could have had him around much longer. Many people wish that. But memories help to sustain us, and when we lose someone so close to us we ache and miss them, but at the same time we find ways to keep them with us, always.
On this November 27th I want to share the song I wrote in his memory, “You’re Not Far.” While it is very personal to me, I hope that it will speak to many of you as well.
